When I was 15, I had a modeling shoot on the SMU (Southern Methodist University) campus in Dallas. It was during classes, and the jeans I was supposed to wear were too small, so they cut out the entire back to fit better in front. In the midst of it, the classes let out and my underwear was showing. It wasn't very funny to me.

Jensen's Background

Jensen Ackles has been house hunting with his current roommate, a production staffer on another TV show, as the two anticipate the arrival of a third Texas high school buddy later this month. "We're going to live it up," he says. "We're looking for a nice house with enough room for all of us, but nothing with too many extras - no pool." But he does want a big yard. "Once we're settled, I want to get a dog. Maybe a Siberian husky or German shepherd," he says. "My mother always had Pugs, and once we had a mutt that was half beagle, a quarter poodle and a quarter Maltese. It was an interesting looking dog, and the sweetest!" Ackles had a rabbit that lived in a big cage and occasionally hopped around the backyard. "Now I want a real dog," he says with a laugh. "An animal that can keep pace with me and run around the neighborhood."

The New Eric Brady

The search is over and DAYS OF OUR LIVES has cast Jensen Ackles as Eric Brady, Sami's (Alison Sweeney) long lost twin brother, who has been residing in Denver with his grandparents for all these many years.

According to DOOL executive producer Ken Corday, "When I saw Jensen's tape, I was very impressed by his fresh approach to the material. For such a young actor, Jensen has a very exciting quality. He tested with both Christie Clark (Carrie) and Alison Sweeney and worked extremely well with both actresses. In fact, he and Alison have more than a physical similarity, interestingly enough, both approach their performance from a comparable emotional level. They should make an exciting brother/sister team.

"As for the story, you will have to wait to see what great plans the writers have in store, but I am very happy to have the character of Eric back in Salem. Keeping our core families intact is an important elements of the success of Days of Our Lives.

Ackles, a native of Richardson, TX, was discovered at an acting seminar in Dallas three years ago, when he was just a senior in high school. He has only been in Los Angeles a little more than one year. After only two weeks, he landed a guest starring role in Sweet Valley High and shortly thereafter was signed as a series regular in the NBC series Mr. Rhodes.
